James is so awesome, I had him come out a year or so ago for chipmunks making there way in somehow and it took one visit to resolve the issue ! I noticed another issue recently and James immediately responded and came and once again got the job done. He’s so easy to speak to, so reliable — I cancelled my Terminix membership as soon as we met James. My sister also called him at 9pm for an urgent issue as she had newborns ... he came as soon as he was able to and worked for hours to resolve the issue as he was concerned like a family member ! This time around when he came to my house he noticed a pipe leaking and fixed it without charge all because he cared for his customers. I would highly recommend James as he is the best and so affordable ! ~ Sophia C

James came out on his day off after we heard a frantic animal in our basement. The sound was coming through the wall. He inspected the entire area—inside and out—and made sure everything was clear. He didn’t find anything and reassured us our home was completely sealed and then worked to find the source of the noise: a cable hanging outside our house 😅! Despite coming out working with us, he didn’t charge us a thing since there was no animal. He was very professional, explained everything he was doing, showed me around the structure of our basement walls, and, after leaving, I felt reassured. He was definitely right about there being no animal, it’s been several days and we haven’t had an experience like that again! Definitely giving him a call if we ever need pest control! ~ Lobna E

James is the kind of contractor you hope to find, but fear you never will. I had wasps entering my house from a vent that ran through the attic and also heard buzzing in the gutter, so feared a nest. He fully investigated, climbed into the attic, looked at the gutters and drains. He couldn't find evidence of a nest. I offered to pay him for coming out, but he wouldn't take it! He said he could have done a preventative spray, but didn't want to use chemicals if not needed. He concluded that a few just got lost and offered to come right back if we saw more activity. We haven't, so I guess it was a fluke. When I DO have another problem I am calling James! He was knowledgeable about the wasps,cand truly looks out for his customers. TOP NOTCH PROFESSIONAL!! ~ Jenn L

Our home is close to 100 years old and built on sand. Every year is a battle with the ants! James came to us quickly since they started appearing early this year, and I’m so relieved to say just one visit so far is taking care of everything. The company we used previously was literally here every single week last year. 1 time and James took care of it!! What!? I didn’t even think that was possible lol I’ve already shared his contact info with a few people. He has great communication, made me feel extremely comfortable when he showed up, HE IS SO EXTREMELY THOROUGH, gets every nook and cranny, is so kind, and actually follows up to make sure everything is working as it should. 10/10 highly recommend! ~ Amanda L

James truly has his clients (I’m my case, potential clients) best interest at heart. I called him to get an inspection done as requested by my property manager. However the details of a letter I received did not sit well with him. After scheduling an appointment with me, he took it upon himself to call the property management office for clarification. He contacted me to let me know I may not have to get an inspection done. I called the management and they apologized for the wording and tone of the letter and stated I did not need the inspection. James did not have to make that call, but he did. He went the extra mile to make sure I was being treated fairly. Even if it meant I would have to cancel my appointment with him. Doing the right thing by his customer was clearly a priority. I will definitely call on him in the future!! ~ Teresa R

James answered my frantic call on Easter Sunday. Yes true story Easter Sunday. I am petrified of rodents and was scared to enter my home because I saw this creature in my kitchen. This was after, I already paid another company for their "failed" efforts. James answering my call was my Sunday blessing. The ultimate professional. He told me he would come on Monday and as promised he showed up. I haven't seen a thing since that day. I am feeling more comfortable in my home and the bonus was he helped me hook up my Sonos. I entertain in my home all the time and truly did not want rodents visiting me while entertaining or ever. I would recommend the company 100%. You pay enough for your home. James is friendly, funny, honest, and knowledgeable! We are first-time homeowners with a young baby. I was frightened seeing mice droppings in the fireplace and basement. James came to rescue us on the same day I called. He carefully sealed all the potential cracks and entrances, also explaining the whole process. His professionalism eased my anxiety. While he was examining outside of the house, he noticed yellow jackets flying around the bushes and found the hive. He came back again the same day during nighttime removing all the yellow jackets for us. James truly cares about each of his clients, treating them like friends and family. Highly recommend! ~ Iru C

When I called Proactive I called at 6:01 am and Jim answered the phone as if he were wide awake. I found out later that I woke him up! Even though I woke Jim up he was the most pleasant person, also very clear on what I needed to do to my home in order for the process to be successful. I also called Jim several times after that. Again Jim was as informative and patient as the first time I called him. When I finally met Jim he was very helpful and informative about the process answered all my questions and clearly took his time. Once Jim treated my house I had no more problems. James is the man with the plan! Rodents found their way into our house and started to cause damage to wires, hoses to appliances, etc. James was quickly able to locate entry points and even captured the two rodents after he baited the areas the previous day. We have an old house with lots of opportunities for these rodents to enter the house. Thankfully, James provided us with great suggestions for covering certain areas in my basement and storm doors. The service was beyond what we expected and we really enjoyed the connection we made with James and will never hesitate to call him again if his services are ever needed. Over the summer, my husband and I bought a house in North Brunswick, NJ. Within a few days, we had ants and plenty of them along with one pesky spider at our front door. I scouted out a few places online, read some reviews and decided to call Proactive Pest Control. James answered the phone on a weekend. I honestly didn't expect for him to show up for at least a few days. He was over our home the first thing the next day. He was super nice, his services were affordable and as a bonus, great with our pets. We have a Mastiff Bull Dog and James was a SWEETHEART to him. I called James the next day in a panic because the ants were still mostly gone, but a few were still dying. He said he was happy to come back over after a few days to re-spray if they didn't disappear. But, by then, they were gone. :) See you in the spring, James! I know Buck can't wait! :) ~ Colleen C

Absolutely phenomenal human being!! He truly cares in helping his customers. This guy got rid of the roaches we had in just ONE visit!!! I was not skeptical because my boyfriend had told me that he had great reviews. After meeting him I understood why my boyfriend talked so great about him!! He definitely is the absolute best at what he does and he is such a down to earth person! He even helped out with putting up our sink. We had renovated Our apartment so he helped out and gave pointers!! He is such a friendly person. Definitely will keep him in our phone book!! Thank you so much James. We had a small infestation of roaches that had us completely baffled because we were trying to get it under control ourselves and we would only have temporary relief. It had us baffled because we would spray a few times and they would seem to be gone and then they would show back up a few weeks later. We just got to the point where we figured we might as well call an exterminator because we just weren’t cut out for it. We checked a few companies and figured ProActive had good reviews so we would give them a shot. James came out to our home on a Sunday afternoon, sat down and seriously gave us more information than we definitely needed to know. The bottom line is that he promised he would get it under control and he delivered on that promise. We just want to thank you James and we will be calling you back if we need you again. Extremely satisfied with Proactive Pest Control and James. My mother had an ongoing fly infestation issue at her house for about a year. Every time we thought we solved the issue, flies would appear in another area of the house. After calling James from Proactive Pest Control, he expertly explained the potential problem, possible remedies, and cost. Once he arrived at the house, James got to work and found the source of the problem and took care of business. It's been about a month now and not a single fly. Proactive Pest Control is the best company I ever dealt with!!! I wish I could give them more than 5 stars because they are professional, reasonable and they got rid of our bed bug problem VERY quickly! Here is our story! I called another pest control company that said they could help me well, they charged me tons of money and did not fix the problem. I was fit to be tied!! I called Proactive Pest Control in tears and told them my story. The owner was able to calm me down and he explained to me how he would handle the situation . They arrived at my house with a friendly smile and took care of our bed bug problem quickly. I hope I don't ever have this problem again but if I do! James was so friendly, kind, thorough and hilarious! He really made me feel comfortable from the first conversation on. He offered to come to service our house the next day following our bug discovery. He was prompt and guided us on what we needed to do to have a successful preparation before and after the treatment. He even cautioned us to stick with the one room that we identified had an issue rather than selling us on treating and paying for an entire home, if not necessary. He was confident in his treatment and so far so good, it’s been a month! He still takes my paranoia calls and texts with pictures and always responds! James from Proactive performed a service here in Sept. 21, and I have to tell you that it's actually been life-changing for me. In the past I came downstairs in the morning with apprehension and was always on the lookout for spiders, and other insects (we live on a couple of acres in a heavily wooded area). So much so that I wouldn't sit at my kitchen table in the morning to have coffee and read because I routinely saw spiders on the floor in the kitchen. I wish I had hired him years ago! He did an excellent job and for the first time in my almost 30 years living here, I don't stress about a spider startling me, they are simply all gone! I highly recommend him! ~ Jane H

I had to take the time to provide a review on my experience with ProActive Pest Control and James. I had been trying very unsuccessfully to work with a different PEST control business to remove fleas from my daughter's apartment (literally 3-4 months). Nothing was working. I decided to reach out to a different business as I felt something was wrong. I connected with James from ProActive Pest Control. He immediately responded to me and my plight. And quite literally was at my daughter's apartment the next day (which was a Saturday) and with ONE treatment and no exposure to premise for 24 hours. They were ALL GONE! So i wasted MONTHS of time, money and distress by using the wrong business to do this. I am literally GRATEFUL for the solution provided to me by James at ProActive. Proactive Pest Control LLC is a fantastic business! James, the owner, answered the phone immediately when I called about our yellow jacket problem. He knew exactly what he needed to do without even checking out the situation first, just by my description. He told me he would be out the same day and explained exactly what he would do and what would happen. And he was 100% accurate! He sprayed some sort of powder into the opening in our foundation and sealed up the hole and POOF!! No more yellow jackets! He even checked on us a day later and then a few days after that again! I mentioned to him a week later I found some dead ones in the basement and he assured me that was normal and was there to answer all of my questions. Pricing was fair and reasonable. James is "Outstanding" and can't say enough about James. James is a True Pro!!! There was a large yellow jackets infestation in an old large window ac unit. The nest was so far into the ac you couldn't even see it... But that was no problem for James.. with his keen eye and Professionalism he knew exactly how to conquer to destroy the nest and the large amount of yellow jackets. Before I called James I called another company that wouldn't come until the next day yet they advertised same day service. James came the same day I called him. Even after all was done James follow up and contacted me the next day... even came back to check. Highly, highly, highly recommend James {owner) of Proactive Pest Control. I called contacted proactive pest control because of a problem with rodents in my home. I spoke to James, the owner. He explained what he would do to help resolve the issue and quoted me a fair price. James came out a few days later and I was very pleased with his service. He was very friendly, making small talk as he worked and kept me informed of everything he did. James even went above and beyond, by fixing the handle that was hanging from my oven door...free of charge! I would definitely recommend anyone to call Proactive if they are looking for someone who will get the job done while also providing A+ service. ~ Nick T

I cannot recommend James from Proactive Pest Control highly enough! We had a persistent and very stressful squirrel problem in our attic. James arrived on time, was incredibly knowledgeable, and immediately put us at ease. He thoroughly inspected the whole property, explained his plan clearly, and executed the removal and exclusion process flawlessly. Not only was the service excellent and highly professional, but James was also genuinely friendly and polite throughout the entire process. He made a difficult situation feel manageable. I had a wonderful experience with James at Proactive Pest Control. There was a huge hornets nest outside my bedroom window and when I called him, he was very helpful and responsive. He came out the next day to take care of it and the service was professional and quick. He is very easy to work with and fully explained what needed to be done. Excellent Same Day Service... We called Proactive this morning concerned about hearing critters in our attic last night. James called back same day and was over in hours to give a full inspection of our attic and home exterior to find the source of entry. With the critter long gone and no signs of droppings, James provided advice, recommendations and references for how we could prevent and deter future visitors. I was supposed to write this review months ago, but I'm glad I finally got to it. James was incredibly professional and very easy to work with. I had issues with fleas and he took care of it. He gave clear instructions and advised me what do after the treatment. It took two treatments, but the difference was clearly there. He got rid of those pesky pests and even contacted me later to ask if there were any more. James was professional, kind, and caring.
